During the Drive
In the name of full disclosure, let's just start by saying the unionization drive is not usually a quick process. But the good news is, that doesn't mean it will be all that difficult or complex for you and your co-workers.
Put simply, your role is to listen to both sides of the argument, take a look at what has happened when other workers like you have unionized, and then make a decision that's in the best interest of you and your family.
Our job is to tell you what we think are the advantages of joining Teamsters 213, and answering your questions as promptly and honestly as we can. That's one of the reasons we created our Ask Away forum on this website - it's because you deserve a place where you can ask whatever you want, the easy questions and the tough with 100% assurances of your confidentiality.
Our other key job in this drive is to make sure your rights are protected and that you're not discriminated against by your employer just because you've shown some interest in joining a union. It's the law. And that's really what this section of the website is all about.
Here we will take you through the process so you know what is involved and what's going to happen next. And we'll tell you a little more about your rights and how we can help if you think those rights have been infringed.
So, yes, this section is about process... but it's important process. So take your time and read this section carefully.
